The Brutal Truth About Being a Junior Cloud Consultant

3 Things They DON'T Tell You

Merry Christmas!

It’s that time of year for new beginnings.

Thinking about cloud consulting? You’ll want to hear this.

It’s not all rainbows and unicorns, especially at the start. Here are 3 key challenges I've faced:

  1. Variety Over Depth:

Being exposed to tons of tech sounds great, right? The problem is you become a "jack of all trades," lacking deep expertise in any one area. This makes specializing later much harder.

  1. Imposter Syndrome (Big Time):

Working with seasoned experts can be intimidating. You might feel like you don't belong. But use this feeling to your advantage: identify your weaknesses and focus on mastering ONE cloud provider first.

  1. Projects & Learning Overload:

So much to learn, it can be paralyzing. Where do you start?

Don't build complex enterprise projects at home—it's expensive and overkill. Instead, master the basics: VMs, Storage, and Networking. Simple projects like hosting a website or setting up a load balancer are the best starting point.

Solid fundamentals are KEY.
