## Start with a bounded app brief

Luke’s January demonstration tests Manus on a mobile app that roasts his YouTube channel, browser-based market research and thumbnail generation. The description positions the tool as a replacement for several subscriptions. That is the recorded product pitch; the useful comparison is whether your own required jobs produce usable results in the combined environment.

1. Open https://manus.im/ and describe the app’s user, input and expected response. Keep one complete flow as the first acceptance test instead of expanding the brief to every feature the platform advertises.
2. Open the generated app and try different inputs. Compare the visible response with the brief and inspect any saved data or backend behaviour you depend on, separately from its visual appearance.

## Watch the actual browser research

The browser example begins at 3:49 and uses Luke’s own browser rather than a separate unauthenticated research session. Existing login state can help access a source, but it does not prove that the agent visited the right page or represented its contents accurately.

1. Give the agent a narrow market question and specify the sources and fields needed. Observe the pages it opens and keep important source URLs with the returned findings.
2. Compare representative findings with the source pages and distinguish retrieved facts from interpretation. Review any proposed account change or external action separately from the research result.

## Review images and assess the replacement claim

Image generation and editing begin at 6:40. The description also promotes app-store publishing and production-ready backends, but it does not establish that every generated app has passed store review or production testing. Keep the demonstrated outputs distinct from the wider feature list.

1. Create a thumbnail from a specific subject, audience and text brief. Inspect recognisable details, lettering and cropping at phone size, then request a targeted edit and compare the revised output.
2. Record what worked, what needed revision and which jobs still required another tool. Check the current plan, model access and usage limits before calculating whether replacing existing subscriptions would actually save you money.

## The takeaway

Evaluate the all-in-one claim through completed tasks. App behaviour, source fidelity and usable images each need their own check before a subscription comparison is meaningful.
