## Check the connection and save a baseline

Thanks to Gamma for sponsoring this video.

This walkthrough uses the Engine Room After Effects MCP repository linked with the video. Gamma sponsors a separate notes-to-slides segment; it is not the After Effects connection.

1. Follow the linked MCP setup for the application and client you use.
2. Run the connection check shown at 3:35 before asking for animation.
3. Save a baseline project and request native text, shapes and keyframes rather than a single flattened video layer.

## Recreate a reference you can edit

Luke recreates a motion graphic, then changes colours, wording and timing. The inspectable project is the deliverable.

1. Supply the reference and describe the movement and layer structure needed.
2. Generate the first version and open it in After Effects.
3. Change text and colours, inspect keyframes and verify that elements remain independent.
4. Ask for targeted timing or layout corrections while preserving the approved parts.

## Build the launch sequence

The Scripti example combines multiple shots into a short launch video and needs refinements.

1. Write the intended sequence and supply the real product assets.
2. Review each generated composition before assembling the full launch video.
3. Save the editable project alongside the export so later changes remain possible.
4. Treat the designer comparison as an illustration: the briefs differed, so it is not a controlled quality test.

## The takeaway

Check that you can change a word or keyframe yourself. An attractive MP4 alone does not establish editable animation.
