## Choose the running location

The Short introduces Claude Code and Codex in Cloudroom, with local Mac work and a cloud route that can continue after the laptop closes.

1. Open the desktop repository for the local route or cloudroom-core for self-hosting.
2. Read the requirements for the route you actually need.
3. Choose a small repository task with a visible expected result before connecting a larger workflow.

## Check continuation and the result

Moving an agent into the cloud changes the environment in which the repository work runs.

1. Check which repository, branch, credentials and tools the cloud task can access.
2. Verify the task continues in the intended environment before relying on laptop-closed execution.
3. Inspect the resulting changes and run the project’s relevant checks.
4. Include existing AI subscriptions in the cost assessment: self-hosting Cloudroom does not make the models run offline.
